Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

This is an open letter to the residents of Oungre, Sedley and Weyburn and surrounding communities thanking them for their participation in the 2010 Heart and Stroke Jump Rope for Heart™ and Heart and Stroke Hoops for Heart™ programs. Through the dedication of students, staff and this community, you raised $10,316.05 to help fund research and save lives in your community. By participating in the Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart programs, these schools have demonstrated their commitment, not only to save lives through the research dollars raised, but to keep their children, healthy, happy and active for many years to come!

Thank you to the schools, their students, administration and staff who have shown such selfless dedication. We also would like to extend our deepest and sincere thanks to the community at large for their continued support. The life-saving work of the Heart and Stroke Foundation depends on your continued generosity.

Thank You for Putting Your Heart into It!

Please also join us in extending special thanks to the dedicated school coordinators who stand shoulder to shoulder with us in our fight to end heart disease and stroke.  They connect with their students in a way that teaches the power of personal choice and empowers students to embrace a lifetime of healthy habits. They bring the passion, imagination, and fun to the Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart programs, to these Dedicated Hearts we say Thank You!

Dedicated Schools: Sedley School, Queen Elizabeth School, and Lyndale School.

Sincerely,

Karla Rempel, Program Specialist South

Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan
