Let praise refresh you

Summer is a joyful time; it's nice and warm, barbecues, family reunions, and just plain having a good time. Summertime is also a time of working long hours, and doing extra work because we know winter is coming!!
This is also true in our relationship with God our Father, we need extra strength to get the job done, but we can receive that strength by praising Him as He is the strength giver. The Bible tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength so here are some thoughts about biblical praise.

Psalms 9:1 “I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart.” Our total focus needs to be
our God.

When you choose to praise, as an act of your will, you are no longer a victim of your emotions. Right feelings follow right actions. Your will is the rudder of your whole being. Direct your will to God, THEN YOUR MIND AND EMOTIONS WILL FOLLOW. We are to praise God WITH OUR MOUTH.

Psalms 109; 30, " I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yes I will praise Him among the multitude." Praise must be vocalized. We give God our confession through an act of our will.

We are to praise God with singing. Psalms 100; 2b "Come before His presence with singing." Singing engages the soul, it is enjoyable, it gives glory to God and brings a freedom to our mind
and joy to our emotions.

A lifestyle of worship is really a life surrendered to God. No act of worship is genuine or true unless it comes from a surrendered heart. A surrendered life doesn't just say "yes" to God once,
but it continues to say "yes" to God every day.

So in this busy summer season take time to refresh your soul - your mind, will, and emotions, by
giving it a charge and praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever. God loves you.
Get connected with Him and let Him refresh you. God bless you and have a great summer.
