Silver Seals compete at Southerns

Twenty-eight members of the Weyburn Silver Seals competed at the Southern Semi-Finals in Regina on July 24.

Four swimmers earned individual overall medals. Steven Speers won gold in the 13 and 14 boys by finishing first in all five of his events.

Breanne Walkeden claimed silver in the 15 to 17 girls with a first, three seconds and a third.

Two swimmers won medals in the over-18 girls. Claudia Lenferna won silver with two first place finishes and three seconds. Kaylyn Jensen won bronze with three seconds and two thirds.

Thirteen other members will be attending provincials: Emma Bitz, Madeline Bocian and Chloe Bedore (seven and eight girls); Olivia Bocian and Janelle Pouliot (nine and 10 girls); Ruslan Edgerton (nine and 10 boys); Caitlin Davis (11 and 12 girls); Callahan Huebner, Trystyn Lautner and Karly Moser (13 and 14 girls); Dakken Bedore (13 and 14 boys); Paige Speers (15 to 17 girls); and Jordan Huebner (18-and-over girls).

The provincial championship will be July 31 in Swift Current.
