Summer events at the Weyburn Public Library


(L-R) Dianne Sander and Donna Marcotte served-up an eight-foot ice cream sundae to children at the Weyburn Public Library on August 6. This event was held in conjunction with the Library’s Summer Reading Program, which ends August 15.

The Weyburn Public Library has several events coming up in August.

Yoga for Seniors begins on Saturday, August 14 at 1 p.m. The second class will be held on August 21.

A representative from Pharmasave will give a presentation on self awareness for children on August 18. Topics include germs, hand washing, medication safety and smoking.

There will be a back to school party for girls at the Library on August 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. Activities include nail painting, making a CD locker magnet and creating a multi-colour t-shirt. Pre-registration is required.

Also on August 24, the Library will be hosting their first Sci-fi Book Club. The first book to be featured is Frank Herbert’s “Dune.”

Toddler Time and Story Time will return to the Library on September 1 and 3.

The Library is introducing its new website at weyburnpubliclibrary.weebly.com.
