Weyburn woman deemed "Woman of Influence"

A Weyburn woman was recently featured on the cover of a Saskatchewan publication for being a "Woman of Influence."

Susan Minard was featured in the summer 2010 issue of Fine Lifestyles Regina magazine with four other women recognized as "Women of Influence."

The article focused on her family business, Minard's Leisure World, and the amount of growth it has seen in the past six years.

Minard said it was awesome to be recognized for her business accomplishments.

“I was in really good company with those other ladies,” said Minard.

The article also focused on motivational speaker Darci Lang, realtor and developer Janine Wilson, lawyer Susan Barker and philanthropist Jacqui Shumiatcher.

In the article, Minard spoke about how the company grew from a staff of five selling RVs from one manufacturer in 2004 to a staff of 30 and products from 16 different brand names. Minard's Leisure World is now one of the largest RV dealerships in western Canada.

Since opening, Minard's Leisure World has expanded to include not only RVs but also modular and manufactured homes, mobile office trailers, Jacuzzi and hot tub sales.

The article also highlighted Minard's past business prowess, including being the top sales person in Canada for a home-based clothing company and the top breeder of collies in Canada in 2000 and 2002.

Minard is business partners with her husband of 30 years, Gene. The couple has a son and daughter, Chris and Lea.
