Report from the Weyburn Police Report for the period of August 23 to 29:

*On August 29, police were called to investigate a complaint of an erratic driver. A 50-year-old Weyburn male was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. He will be appearing in court in September

*After an in-depth investigation, police have charged a 36-year-old male from Ontario with five counts of prescription forgery.

*On August 28, police were called to investigate a report of an assault. The victim received minor injuries and was transported to hospital for overnight observation. The matter is under investigation.

*Police were called to investigate a case of a stolen 2001 Oldsmobile Alero vehicle in the city. The matter is currently under investigation.

*Police were called to a complaint of a suicidal youth that had threatened his life and one other person’s life. The 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with making threats. The matter is still under investigation.

*On August 27, police members were requested to assist with two impaired driving cases that originated in Estevan.

*Police were called to investigate a case of a stolen vehicle; the matter is still under investigation.

*Police were called to investigate a complaint of a possible suicidal youth. The youth was later located and taken to a local hospital.

*On August 25, police attended a motor vehicle accident at Fourth Street and Prairie Avenue, one of the drivers was charged with leaving a stop sign before safe to do so.

*On August 23, police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a local business. The vehicle was later located and it was determined that the owner had just forgotten where he had parked it.

*Police arrested a male who had outstanding charges in Alberta. The male was remanded in custody and returned to Alberta to face the outstanding charges.

*With the recent problem of stolen vehicles and thefts from vehicles, the Weyburn Police Service would like to remind residents to make sure they do not leave keys or valuables in their vehicles and to lock their doors. Anyone with information about the thefts from vehicles or the recent stolen cars is encouraged to call police or Crime Stoppers.

*Police responded to 140 calls for service during this reporting period, many of them alcohol related.
