Time to register for workshops

Internet and online marketing experts will be in Weyburn on October 3 to speak at a social media workshop for the business community.

Mike Klein, CEO of Meshy Communications Inc. and Harley Rivet, CEO of Deep Dish Digital will lead participants through an informative, hands-on social media session. Both are from Saskatoon, and have close to 30 years combined experience in the industry. This workshop has been sponsored by Community Futures (CF) Sunrise, Ministry of the Economy, and the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.

"Social media and its relevance to business are hot topics right now. Many business owners want to explore Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube, but are hesitant to start their company's social media presence. This workshop should provide attendees with tools and insight into social media best practices," commented Verna O'Neill of CF Sunrise.

"We will discuss many fundamental marketing topics such as how to choose the best social media tactics for your business, the five most important components of effective websites, how to maximize social media buy-in from followers, and tools for maintaining your social media presence," said speaker Harley Rivet.

Session attendees will have ample time to ask questions and are encouraged to bring a laptop along in order to take part in some of the exercises and examples.

This workshop will be held on October 3 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person. To register for this workshop, contact CF Sunrise: 1.877.851.9997 or sunrise.c...@sasktel.net.
