Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of October 1 to 7:
During the reporting period, police attended to 93 calls for service.
*On October 7, a man attended the police station after having a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend. While leaving the residence, she kicked the side mirror off of his vehicle. An investigation into the mischief is still ongoing.
*A man reported that his dog was attacked by another dog after it broke away from its chain. His dog was badly injured. The owner of the offending dog will be charged with having a dog that has bitten another dog and is scheduled to appear in court.
*One of the residents from a community group home was reported missing. While police were trying to locate the man, he returned home.
*On October 6, a young man was found laying on the sidewalk. Police were unable to awaken him due to his level of impairment from alcohol consumption. Weyburn EMS was called. They managed to awaken the man and he was taken home.
*Police stopped a vehicle in the south area of Weyburn. When the driver displayed several signs of impairment and refused to provide breath samples, he was arrested and lodged in cells. He was charged for refusing to provide breath samples and will be required to appear in court.
*After receiving a noise complaint from Sixth Street, a man was charged under the bylaw which carried a fine of $300.
*On October 5, staff from victim services found an elderly male defecating on the mat in front of the Weyburn Police Service. The man was reprimanded for his actions and was sent on his way.
*On October 3, police attended a domestic dispute after a caller stated that one of the people involved had a knife. Police mediated the dispute and no charges were laid.
*On October 2, three vehicles were damaged after their rear driver's side windows were smashed-in in the northeast area of Weyburn. The incidents are under investigation.
*Police received a call regarding a minor accident that occurred in the downtown area of Weyburn. The driver's door and mirror were damaged on a parked car after it was struck by a heavy truck. No charges were laid in the accident and both parties were told to report the accident to SGI.
*After receiving a report of a domestic disturbance, officers attended the south area of the city. Three men and one woman were yelling at each other. It was determined that the argument stemmed from a disagreement over rent. The people involved were able to settle their argument and no police action was taken.
*October 1, police attended the area of the high school after receiving a complaint that a young man had jumped onto the hood of a vehicle. The man was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for climbing onto a vehicle without the owner's consent and will have to appear in court.
*The driver's side window of a vehicle was smashed while it was parked on Elm Crescent. The incident is under investigation.
