Cenovus goes back to school with Weyburn Red Wings

Weyburn Red Wings forward Robbie Wilkinson read the book, "Scaredy Squirrel" to Mrs. Gulka's Grade One class at St. Michael's School on February 6. Wilkinson then signed autographs for the children.

The Cenovus Energy Reading Program has begun again, with the Weyburn Red Wings visiting local elementary schools to get students excited about reading.

For the last three years, the Red Wings and Cenovus Energy have teamed up to create a literacy program in Weyburn's elementary schools. Cenovus provides books at each of the schools for students to keep. Each student is also given a free pass to a regular season game.

"Cenovus is pleased to support this program as a way to instill a love for reading in kids," said Twila Walkeden, Cenovus Senior Advisor of Community Relations. "We strive to be a good neighbour and support the communities where we live and work."

Cenovus aims to support meaningful programs that improve our communities and helps ensure a vibrant, dynamic future for the communities where we work and where we live. We want communities to be better off as a result of us being there.
