A while back I did a article on truth and that Gods word the bible is something that you could trust. The bible has been tested and shown to be historically accurate with to days manuscript being the same as the original. Yet through history and even today the bible comes under attack as being false and inaccurate. The book "The DaVinci Code" and the movie portray the history of the bible as a inaccurate with many in the history of the church hiding the truth of Jesus and how the bible was formed. Hank Hanegraaff and Paul Maier in their book "The DaVinci Code Fact or Fiction" write this, "What is truth? This is the very question Pontius Pilate asked Jesus. In the irony of the ages, the Roman governor stood toe-to-toe with Truth and yet missed its reality. Many people in our postmodern culture are in much the same position. They stare at truth but fail to recognize its identity. So what is truth? The answer is simple: truth is anything that corresponds to reality. As such, truth is not determined by the popularity of a book like The DaVinci Code. Nor is it a matter of preference or opinion. Truth is true even if everyone denies it, and a lie is a lie even if everyone affirms it. When sophistry, sensationalism, and superstition sabotage truth, our view of reality is seriously skewed. That is precisely what Dan Brown author of The DaVinci Code does. It is based on an idiosyncratic brand of fundamentalism that is fond of making dogmatic assertions while failing to provide defensible arguments."
The truth is that no matter how accurate the bible is with history or how correctly it has been passed down at some point you have to step out in faith and believe what it says. In the bible, Hebrews 11 verse 1 it says, "Now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you cannot see." To have faith in the bible and its divine author is something that is not shaky but something solid that you can place your life in.
