The old adage "Making hay while the sun shines" is so apt when you drive in the country side and see the fields ready with the harvest. It is a beautiful example of the hard work and perseverance displayed by the farmers of the land.
In the spiritual sense the Bible talks about a day coming when the Lord of the harvest will come to claim his own. Dear friends, we are living in a time where the clock's ticking goes without notice, and sometimes an illusion sets in as if things will go on the same for ever.
But let me assure us that God is faithful to His Word. He is not a man that would lie nor the son of man he would repent. If He has said He will come again, surely He will come. The question to be asked is not whether the Lord of the Harvest will come, but are we ready when He comes? He will come in the twinkling of an eye. Just as the wise men two thousand years sought the baby in the manger, because they knew through God's revelation that this baby was God in flesh. So if we are wise we will still Seek Our Maker.
In the day to day life what seeds are we sowing? Is it seeds of bitterness, cynicism, criticism, or of negativity Then Life's too short for that. We are called to sow the seeds of God's unconditional love, of God's dependable promises - Jesus-seed. The harvest will come - some while you're here, some after you're gone. But think legacy, so the seed sown by your life will still be blooming and beautifying long after you're gone!
So let me close by penning that Harvest time has been on for the last two thousand years and is still continuing and if you are not part of the Bandwagon of the Lord of the harvest then He beckons you - "Come Child, it is still not late, I am waiting for You". Let us run and accept His invitation so that in eternity there is no Regrets.
