A goal of $140,000 has been set by the Weyburn United Way as Communithon kicked off September 6.
"Weyburn is full of talent. It's always lots of fun and thank you to all that make this happen," said Weyburn and District United Way President Jeff Richards.
As always, Communithon couldn't work without the help of volunteers. Anyone interested in volunteering may go to weyburnunitedway.com to complete a volunteer form. Areas to volunteer include, entertainment, finance, production, and silent auction.
"Communithon thrives on volunteers. Without your participation we would not be able to raise these funds," said Richards.
This year's Captain United and Lady Charity are Justin Claude and Sarah Doud. Anyone interested in fundraising prior to Communithon can contact the Weyburn and District United Way to have Captain United and Lady Charity attend events.
The 11 member agencies are Big Brothers Big Sisters of Weyburn, Canadian Mental Health, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Canadian Paraplegic Association, Canadian Red Cross, Color My World Child Care, Envision Counselling & Support Centre, Saskatchewan Abilities Council, Southeast Advocates for Employment, Weyburn Care-A-Van Society, and Weyburn Special Care Home Auxiliary.
Communithon starts at 8 a.m. on October 25th and runs for 33 hours, ending at 5 p.m. on October 26th.
