We live in a day where, where many things crave our attention. In the religious world there are a plethora of beliefs wooing for our attention. Jesus in the Bible says "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
I believe our decision to believe is a personal choice. God does not force us to believe, He has left that decision to us. Definitely there are regrets when we make bad choices. When we read the Bible we see examples of good and bad choices that people made. I would like to share an example of each of them.
In the Old Testament book of Kings Chapter 7 verse 2 we read about the word of the Lord given by His servant Elisha - "Thus says the Lord; tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.
This word of the Lord was received with skepticism and mockery and the reply was - "Look if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be? God responded through His servant and said - "In fact you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat it".
Dear friends - God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? We see from the above passage that it had happened just as God had spoken through His servant, the tragedy was that the person who responded to God's word with mockery and skepticism had to pay his own life . The Bible says he was trampled by the people to whom he was distributing the food.
We also see a beautiful example of a person who displayed great faith. In the New Testament in the gospel of Mark chapter 5 we see about a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
Dear Reader - We see the end result of the choices made by the above two individuals.
Jesus calls us to believe Him today! HE is trustworthy ! Can we respond with a child like faith?
