The City of Weyburn's Culture Day Celebration will be held on September 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Weyburn Leisure Centre. There will be something for everyone.
The Weyburn Arts Council invites all local artists to participate in an art sale during the event. There are limited spots available, so anyone interested should call Ron Ror at 306-848-3922 or email weyburnartscoun...@live.ca. The cost is $20 per table, which is refundable upon attendance.
The event will also include live entertainment, face painting by Bob Satre of Weyburn, as well as food organized by the Weyburn Youth Centre.
Free public swimming will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The City is also organizing a special Culture Day Workshop, free of charge. The workshop will be instructed by Simple...with a Twist, consisting of local Weyburn artists, Heather van der Breggen and Rickee-Lee Webster, who are a mother-daughter team. The workshops will be available to the public from 5:00 to 5:50 p.m. and from 6:00 to 6:50 p.m. Students will complete a 12" x 12" acrylic abstract painting. Separately, each piece will be a unique abstract. Collectively, each piece will create a cohesive image, illustrating that we are all part of a larger whole, and that without all the individual pieces the picture would not be complete. The result represents Weyburn and Canadian Culture and our Global Culture. All supplies are included in the workshop. For further information or to register call Alice Neufeld at 306-848-3278 or email aneuf...@weyburn.ca.
