Weyburn Chamber of Commerce announces Weybex finalists


The Weyburn &d District Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for the 2014

WEYBEX Awards which takes place on Friday, May 23 at McKenna Hall in Weyburn.

The Chamber presents awards in six categories.

For Business Leader of the Year, the nominee is John Hulbert of John Hulbert Construction. Business Leader of the Year, sponsored by Cenovus Energy, is presented to someone who exemplifies the qualities of a business visionary.

The nominees for the Golden Service Award are: Access Communications, Knibbs/Associates, M&M Concession, and Swayze Concrete. The Golden Service Award, sponsored by MNP, recognizes a local business demonstrating outstanding customer service and hospitality.

Sponsored by SaskEnergy, the Community Involvement Award is presented to a business demonstrating outstanding performance in contributing to recreation, amateur sports, arts and culture, education, charitable or non-profit groups and business development and promotion in the city. The nominees for this category are: Aaron Well Servicing, Access Communications, KG Fitzgerald's, and PAR Contracting.

The nominees for New or Expanded Business are: M & M Concession, Streamline Oilfield Service, and XSIV. Sponsored by Sunrise Community Futures, the New or Expanded Business Award is presented to a business established or expanded in the past two years and demonstrates exceptional performance in a number of categories.

La Mirage Hair Studio, M&M Concession and ProTouch Signs have been nominated for the Business Hall of Fame. New Age Electronics sponsors the Business Hall of Fame Award. This award recognizes pioneer and cornerstone business leaders demonstrating long term excellence and contributing to the economic well being of Weyburn and area.

Business of the Year is selected from the winners of Golden Service, Community Involvement and New or Expanded Business and is by the Weyburn Co-op Association.

Tickets are available from the Chamber office for $55 each or a table of 8 for $440.

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce presents the WEYBEX Awards bi-annually to celebrate business excellence in our community.
