Hershey track meet set for June 2 at Weyburn Comprehensive

Comments

A Hershey Track Meet for athletes aged 9-14 born between 2000 and 2005 will be held at the Weyburn Comprehensive Track on Monday, June 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Hershey's Track & Field games are about helping get kids on the right track, teaching lifelong lessons and having fun with every run, jump and throw along the way.

Participants can run, jump, and throw in an event that stresses fun as well as competition. For some participants, the program offers an opportunity to refine their natural abilities. For others, it may be the spark that ignites their interest in an activity that is mentally, physically and socially rewarding.

This meet is open to all youth in Zone 1 who wish to compete in track and field events. Winners from this event have the option of competing at the Provincial Hershey Meet in Saskatoon on Saturday, June 21.

Winner's results from the provincial meet are compared to other regional results. Selected regional team participants receive an all-expense-paid trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania for the North American Finals.

Entries will be received up until midnight on Monday, May 26. The athlete's name, date of birth, and events entered can be emailed to hsidlo...@hotmail.com.

There is no cost to enter.

An alternate date of June 4 has been set.
