Weyburn Esso station robbed at knife point

Weyburn Police Service is investigating the armed robbery of an Esso station on Sims Avenue which occurred in the early morning hours of June 26.

Sergeant Trevor Hughes said at approximately 3:40 a.m., the Esso was robbed of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect, who was wearing a ski mask and a dark colored jacket with the hood up, was armed with a knife. He is described as approximately 6 feet tall, slim and in his early 20's.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

In an unrelated incident on June 25, Hughes said a man and a woman had tried to make their way out of Weyburn Canadian Tire with a cart full of unpurchased product at approximately 4 p.m.

Following a short police chase on Highway 39, a 28-year-old male and a 23-year-old female were arrested and are being remanded in custody until their court appearance on July 7 in Weyburn Court.
