Comments

The Weyburn Branch of the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society is celebrating their 30th anniversary and is pleased to be hosting a genealogy presentation by Pat Ryan at the Weyburn Public Library on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. to kick-off their fall programs.

Everyone is welcome to attend this session.

Pat Ryan MXXSG is a first generation Canadian. Her paternal line is from the British Isles and her maternal line is from the USA, Germany and the Netherlands. Ryan has completed SGS Certification courses, is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists as well as holding memberships in numerous genealogical societies around the world. Ryan's style is humourous, informative and engaging. For a decade, Pat has been teaching genealogical courses through the University of Regina Seniors Education Centre and through her own PastRelations company which offers online courses. "Who's Your Momma?"

This session will have you participating in solving a genealogy problem, actually numerous problems. Come join in the mayhem and hilarity of genealogy miss-steps, AND help solve these challenges.

You will all be doing practical, hands-on, interactive research during the session - no electronics necessary, but bring your reading glasses! Along the way you will learn valuable skills that will send you home equipped with new abilities, and anxious to find details previously hidden from you.

This session is perfect for beginners, those with brick-walls and even the advanced. No matter where your ancestors came from, you *do* need these skills. Be prepared to share in laughter and perhaps even a couple tears.
