Hilkewich winner in rain-shortened tourney


Over 40 golfers participated in the annual Crocus Men's Open golf tournament held August 23 at the Weyburn Golf course. Winners included, (l-r) Gary Plonka, Daryl Yakimowski, Lloyd Kerowatski, Ryan Rittwage, Kris Labatt and tournament champion Carter Hilkewich.

The Weyburn Golf Club held the annual Crocus Men's Open on August 23 and 24. There were 44 men competing in the tournament which was shortened to a one day event due to heavy rain.

The results were:

Men's Division - Championship Flight: First place, Carter Hilkewich - 73; second place Matt Procyshen - 74; third Ryan Galay - 75; fourth Chad Fingler - 79; and fifth Marshall Bakken - 79.

First Flight: First place Kris Labatt - 80; second Marc Henderson - 81; third John Corrigan - 82; fourth Lach Reeve - 83; fifth Brian Rittwage 84.

Second Flight: First place Ryan Rittwage - 86; second Trent Rommann - 86; third Brent Malbeuf - 87; fourth Tyler Hollar - 87; fifth Mike Keslering - 89.

Third Flight: First place Lloyd Kerowatski - 93; second Marcus Simon - 94; third Curtis Bowie - 95; fourth Mark Gerardin - 95; fifth Darren Hill - 89.

Senior Men's Division - Championship Flight: First place Gary Plonka - 85; second Mark Neuberger - 85; third Mel Hoffman - 86.

First Flight: First Place Daryl Yskimowski - 92; second Kevin Marinos - 93; third Blaire Pateman 96.

Horse Race Winner - Carter Hilkewich; long drive #1 Ryan Galay; closest to the pin #7 - Lloyd Kerowatski; clostest to the pin #9 Kris Labatt; closest to the pin #13 Sean Bobinski; closest to the pin #16 Marc Henderson.
