God’s Diary

Ministerial Moment

Dear friends, if your name is in the diary of a respected famous personality, I assume you would be delighted. How much more to be in the diary of the Creator of this entire universe. The One, whose hand has made all things.

In the book of Isaiah we read God saying - But on this one will I look; On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit and who trembles at My Word.

See the three fold criteria that God is looking for - Poor, contrite spirit, Trembles at My Word. When we hear the word poor, we immediately think of poverty in the physical realm , here the term poor refers to being " poor in spirit ". Jesus in the beatitudes said - Blesssed are the poor in the spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The poor in spirit are those who recognize their spiritual poverty and casting aside all self- dependence seeking God's grace.

King David in the Old Testament is a classic example of being poor and having a contrite spirit. Even though King David was one of the most powerful Kings that Israel had, he had not forgotten his humble beginnings as a shepherd boy. Psalm 51 is a genuine prayer of repentance by King David when he was confronted by the prophet Nathan. King David could have got the prophet Nathan executed when he confronted him, but we see that David honestly says to the prophet " I have sinned against the Lord".

In Psalm 51 David says - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart - these, O God, you will not despise. David understood the heart of God, he is rightly called a "Man after God's own heart".

God's third criterion is - One who trembles at My Word. God is looking on this earth, looking for someone who trembles still, someone who hears your Word and cries out, "Wow! That came from God ! I just read words sent to me from God Almighty, from the great I Am! "

Let God's Word rock your world!

My friends - let us desire earnestly to be in God's Diary. Oh what an honor to be noticed by the Almighty God.
