Christmas activities to be hosted by Library

A number of Christmas-themed activities will be held at the Weyburn Public Library through the month of December.
A Christmas movie, Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” was held on Dec. 7. An evening of “Cookies, Carols and Cards” was held on Thursday, Dec. 8, featuring the STARS Show Choir, who will provide the entertainment.
A gingerbread house contest will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m., and the library encourages families or teams to register for an afternoon of creative holiday fun. There will be hot chocolate and prizes for participants.
For children aged eight to 12, there will be a robot-building session, Ozobot, on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. Children will have the opportunity to build and program this unique robot. As space is limited, registration is required.
For adults, there will be a session called Holiday Mixology on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. This session will provide beverage and snack ideas for Christmas, and is available for those 19 and over, with registration required.
A “Timeout for Moms” will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m., where moms will be pampered with an afternoon of spa-like treatments.
There will be a couple of events held in between Christmas and New Year’s, including a family movie, “Finding Dory”, on Wednesday, Dec. 28 starting at 2 p.m., and a family games day on Thursday, Dec. 29, starting at 2 p.m. There will be hot chocolate, and families can choose from board games or Xbox One games to play.
