Weyburn Credit Union (WCU) was nationally recognized with three achievements in Marketing Excellence (AIME) Awards presented by the Marketing Association for Credit Unions (MACU).
This year’s AIME awards attracted hundreds of entries from credit unions across Canada. The AIME awards recognize the best and brightest achievements in credit union marketing, communications and community relations through a variety of categories.
WCU was honoured with the Brand and Brand Building Award for the redesign of their visual brand, the Website Award for the launch of their new website in July of 2016, and the $3,000 Shoe String Award for an advertising campaign. The awards were presented at the 2017 Canadian Credit Union Marketing Conference Awards Gala on May 8 in Halifax.
“To say we were honoured would be an understatement,” said Tana Torkelson, vice president of marketing. “I am so proud of our team’s hard work in creating a brand that celebrates our unique credit union story. In a world often too focused on profit, a credit union is a relevant and meaningful alternative for financial services but if you have an out-dated, stagnant brand, people can’t see past that. Now we have a brand that reflects the innovative and vibrant credit union we are, a brand our members can and should be proud of.”
