The staff and students of Queen Elizabeth School will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the school with a program and activities on Thursday, March 23.
The program will begin in the gym at 2:30 p.m., and the school will have an open house until 6 p.m. for the anniversary celebration.
The staff and students, along with the school community council, will host the program, with parents, and all former staff and students, invited to attend.
Parent volunteer Sheila Thackeray said plans include songs by students, and greetings brought by Southeast Cornerstone board chair Audrey Trombley, and Keith Keating, superintendent  of schools for Cornerstone’s West area. Cake will be served following the program.
If the weather cooperates, the students will do a balloon release.
The students will have a school clothing spirit day, and there will be history books on display about the school’s past. There will be tours given of the school after school hours.
