The Weyburn Rotary Club has cancelled the “Legends” concert with performer Devra Straker, which was to be held on Friday evening, as it could not be rescheduled.

“They couldn’t make it out of Regina on Friday because of the storm, so we had to postpone it. We tried to reschedule, but due to the bookings at the Cugnet Centre and the bookings for ‘Legends’, we are unable to reschedule it,” said Rotarian Ray Hamm, one of the organizers of the concert event.

After the club held an executive meeting on Tuesday morning, they decided that “Legends” tickets will be honoured for the “Sons of Pioneer” concert, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 23, at the Cugnet Centre, or ticket-holders can get a refund.

The Rotary Club will set up a table in the Prairie Sky Co-op food store on Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7, to provide refunds to anyone who wants that.

If they are not able to make it to the food store on those dates, and they don’t wish to attend the “Sons of the Pioneer” concert, they can contact club president Garnet Hart to arrange for a refund.

In addition to the “Sons” concert, the Rotary Club will be working with the Weyburn Comprehensive School SRC to put on Lobsterfest at the Cugnet Centre on Saturday, May 12.
