Red Wings fall camp scheduled for Labour Day long weekend

Hockey season is right around the corner for the Weyburn Red Wings, as their fall camp is scheduled for the Labour Day long weekend in September. Camp will open with registration in Crescent Point Place lobby on Saturday, September 2 at 9 a.m.

Hockey season is right around the corner for the Weyburn Red Wings, as their fall camp is scheduled for the Labour Day long weekend in September. Camp will open with registration in Crescent Point Place lobby on Saturday, September 2 at 9 a.m.
Fitness testing and on ice sessions will follow immediately after registration, and continue until Monday, September 4. A “Red and White” exhibition game will be held on Tuesday, September 5.
The Red Wings have been busy signing a number of players for the 2017-2018 hockey season. They have signed forward Derick Smith, goaltender Arik Weersink, left winger Austin Cook, forward Jordan Kazymyra, forward Ben MacLennan, right winger Cade Kowalski, forward Jessie Young, defenseman Jevon “Chevy” Schwean, forward Connor Pyne, defenseman Garrett Szeremley, left winger Jeremy Velazquez, and center Dawson Atamanchuk.
Season ticket holders are reminded that they have until Friday, September 1, to renew their season tickets. Season tickets can be purchased at the Weyburn Red Wing office, located in Crescent Point Place.
The Red Wings will start their 2017-2018 regular season on Friday, September 15, when they host the Yorkton Terriers at Crescent Point Place, and then have an away game in Yorkton on Sunday, September 17. The Red Wings continue on the road, as they will be in Melfort on Friday, September 22, and then compete in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Showcase, which will be held in Saskatoon from Sunday to Wednesday, September 24 to 27.
The SJHL’s Showcase will be similar to the other Junior A League’s showcases in which all teams will be competing in two games with complete rosters and with points going towards regular season standings. The Red Wings will face Flin Flon on Sunday, September 24 (which is considered a home game), and then face the Kindersley Kippers on Monday, September 25.
During October, the Red Wings have five home games, scheduled for Saturday, October 7; Wednesday, October 11; Saturday, October 14; Sunday, October 15; and Saturday, October 21. They are on the road four times in October. For November, the Red Wings play at home four times, scheduled for Friday, November 3; Monday, November 13; Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18. They are on the road eight times in November.
For December, the Red Wings have four home games, scheduled for Friday, December 8; Saturday, December 9; Wednesday, December 13; and Saturday, December 30. They have three road games in December. During January, the Red Wings are home seven times, scheduled for Friday, January 5; Saturday, January 6; Friday, January 12; Saturday, January 13; Saturday, January 20; Friday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 30. They have three road games in January.
During February, the Red Wings have four home games, scheduled for Friday, February 2; Friday, February 16; Monday, February 19; Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24. They have six road games in February. Finally, for March, the Red Wings have two home games, scheduled for Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3, and one road game.
