The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club finished out 2017 with a couple of games, then were busy during January.
In regular play on Dec. 21, there were four tables and first place went to Fred Milleker and Erskine Sandiford; second place went to Gord Bell and Rick Wanner; and third went to Reggie Frank and Jim Brown.
December 28 also had four tables and Diane Bell and Jim Kaz placed first, Gord Bell and Barry Mactaggart came second, and Fred and Lydia Milleker were third.
Four and a half tables played on Jan. 4 and Gord Bell and Jim Kaz started the year off with a win; Fred and Lydia Milleker took second; and there was a tie for third between Jean Knibbs and Jean Fahlman, and Jim Brown and Reggie Frank.
The game on Jan. 8 also had four and a half tables and Gord Bell and Jim Kaz took first edging out Fred and Lydia Milleker who were second, followed by Lucie Nickel and John Whitell who were third, and Garnet Hart and Terry Bendickson who were fourth.
Four tables were played on Jan. 11. top honours went to Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz, second place went to Theresa Istace and Erskine Sandiford, while third place went to Gord Bell and Rick Wanner.
With three tables playing on Jan. 15, Jean Knibbs and Jim Brown placed first, edging out Gord Bell and Jim Kaz who placed second.
Four tables were played on Jan. 19. Meta Murray and Joan Harder took top honours, Erskine Sandiford and Fred Milleker were second, and Mildred Sandiford and Jean Janoski placed third.
Four tables played on Jan. 22 and the winners were Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz, second place went to Theresa Istace and Linda Kot, while third went to Jean Knibbs and Jim Brown.
The game on Jan. 25 had four and a half tables and Fred and Lydia Milleker finished in first place; Meta Murray and Joan Harder came second; Theresa Istace and Erskine Sandiford were third; and Barry Mactaggart and Rick Wanner were fourth.
The last game in January on the 29th had four tables and Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz placed first, Marg Stewart and Marg Marinos came second, while Fred Milleker and John Whitell were third.
The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club plays on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. and Thursday afternoons at 1 p.m. at the Wheatland Seniors Centre. All bridge players are welcome to come and play bridge.
