Be Food Safe

Souris School will be hosting a free “Food Safety for Volunteers” class at their school on Thursday, October 13.
The class will be held in the Souris School gym, with access from the Third Street southeast entrance, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This class will cover safe food handling. Provincial regulations require that all licensed restaurants must have at least one staff member per shift who has taken a food handler course. The Food Safety for Volunteers Class is a 2.5 hour presentation intended for people who serve food at community functions (pot luck suppers, concessions at the Weyburn Fair, and fundraisers).
Space for the workshop is limited (no children allowed). Those interested in taking the course can email Shannon Seitz, Souris School Educational Liaison, at shannon.seitz@cornerstonesd.ca.
The registration deadline for the workshop is Thursday, October 8.
