FCC Drive Away Hunger collection

In Saskatchewan, more than 20,600 people are assisted by a food bank each month. Of those assisted, 43 per cent are children. There are more than 30 community food banks across the province and 23 of those service rural clients.

Representatives from Farm Credit Canada (FCC) travelled throughout Saskatchewan aboard a tractor on October 18 to help local food banks. The FCC Drive Away Hunger tour ended its day in Weyburn announcing a food collection of 7,941 pounds and $11,807. Weyburn's collection alone totalled 734 pounds of food and $1,695.

FCC Drive Away Hunger is about making a difference in communities by working together to help Canadian food banks feed people in need. Since 2004, the program has raised over 7.8 million pounds of food.
