What a week for 20 students and 10 advisors from the Weyburn Comprehensive School who attended the annual Canadian Student Leadership Conference in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. This huge delegation went all the way to the west coast of that beautiful province to gather knowledge about leadership along with 800 other students and advisors from across Canada. They were not disappointed. The motivational speakers were great, the workshops informative and the fellowship beyond belief.

Besides learning all about leadership, the team was also there to discover how to run a conference of this size as it is coming to Weyburn in 2012. The Weyburn Comprehensive School, under the leadership of Joanne Jensen and Margot Arnold, applied to host this conference two years ago and look out Weyburn! For five days the town will be filled with enthusiastic youth and dedicated advisors taking part in a great conference and highlighting what we have to offer in south-east Saskatchewan. The community will be asked to get greatly involved in the organization, helping to run the conference and in particular to billet the student delegates. Billets will be asked to supply a bed and breakfast from Tuesday to Sunday.

In WCS Sports news, the final football game of the year takes place today, Friday October 7, at Darold Kot Field starting at 4:00 p.m. following a tailgate barbeque.
