ROSETOWN, Sask. — Hundreds of first responders from across Western Canada gathered in Rosetown for a memorial service to honour a volunteer firefighter who died on the job.
Darrell Morrison was struck by a truck last week while responding to a crash.
A full honours parade was held Tuesday followed by a more intimate funeral service.
Saskatchewan Fire Commissioner Duane McKay says his death has hit the small town and the volunteer fire service hard.
Morrison is being remembered as an encouraging man who was a pleasure to work with.
A counsellor has been brought in to support his family and firefighters who are mourning his loss.
RCMP are investigating the cause of the crash. (CTV Regina)
