Wheatland Senior Centre to host anniversary

The Wheatland Seniors Centre will celebrate their 30th anniversary on Thursday, Sept. 13. They will host a come-and-go cake and coffee social at the centre from 2 to 4 p.m.

The centre will also host Seniors Week activities for the week of Sept. 30 to Oct. 6. There will be silent auction items on display for the full week. Activities include a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be beef on a bun on Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m., and a pie and coffee social will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 1 to 3 p.m. This is also the final day for the silent auction items.

The results for the games and activities from Aug. 27-31 are as follows.

In bridge on Monday: 1. Erskine Sandiford; 2. Jim Brown; 3. Lucie Nickel.

In bridge on Friday: 1. Annie Easton; 2. Basil Holyer; 3. Jim Brown. Trump whist: 1. Lavica Mahnke; 2. Emily Stadler; 3. Basil Holyer. Hi-lo whist: 1. Marie Marcotte and Dorothy Lindskog; 2. Connie and Ray Boucher; 3. Emil Zyla and Marg Leavens. Canasta: 1. Margaret Warnke; 2. Mary Maas; 3. Gerry Thompson.

Kaiser: 1. Meta Murray and Lavica Mahnke; 2. Jean Knibbs and Betty Knibbs; 3. Fran Franks and Melba Bent. Thursday crib: 1. Shirley Hubbs and Pat Buttner; 2. Chris Herlick and Phyllis Lindskog; 3. Jean Reich and Joan Gregory.
