Fire ban in effect for Pangman and RM area

Pangman — The Pangman fire truck was called out to a fire north of Pangman on April 24. Due to the dry conditions, effective immediately a fire ban for the RM of Norton and the Village of Pangman has been issued. No burning is permitted until further notice, with one exception. Bonfires will be allowed in Pangman but must be in a contained pit, and no open fires allowed.
A large garage sale was held at the Community Centre on April 21 with many attending. Over $700 was made with the proceeds going towards the new boiler for the Pangman swimming pool. Items were donated by 29 families for this successful event.
Graduation exercises for Nikita Ruiz Reyes will be held at the Pangman School gym on Friday, May 4, starting at 1 p.m., with a social to follow from 2-3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Pangman dance recital will be held at the Pangman School gym on Sunday, May 6, starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
A Mother’s Day tea will be held at the Deep South Personal Care home on Friday, May 11, starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Ladies Auxiliary will be holding their May meeting at the Deep South Personal Care home on Monday, May 7, starting at 9:30 a.m. All ladies are welcome. There is no fee to join. New ideas for raising money for items for the residents are always welcome.
Visiting and helping Marguerite Guest to celebrate her 93rd birthday was her daughter Cathy and Michael Tomlinson from Hazelton, B.C. Cathy and Michael arrived on April 19 and returned home on April 26.  
Olga Froh from Regina motored to Pangman on April 14 to help celebrate Evie Froh’s birthday. Evie is a resident of the Deep South Personal Care Home.
