The Weyburn Beavers started their second series of the playoffs last night. Bottom of the first, Drake Pilat, hits a wild Ball allowing Wade Weinburger to advance to second and Keaton Greenwalt to score a run. Felix Correa was next up to bat and hit a single to right field. Correa then advances to second as Weinburger makes it to home base. It’s then Cory Ewald who hits a double to center field that brings Correa home. The score remained 3-0 until the top of the fifth when Red Sox’s, Adam De La Cruz, managed to hit a double to center field of Ryan Jonhson's pitch. This allowed De La Cruz’s teammates, Wesley Moss and Brooks Stotler, to earn to runs for the team. The game remained a nail bitter until Tyler Scott stepped up to base and almost copied what De La Cruz did. With a hit to double left field, Cory Ewald and Anthony Galindo run on home. Final game score 5-2 and series score 1-0. Tonight will be the second game of the series here in Weyburn.
