The Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park (WTAPark) is currently in a transition phase.
Don Sealy has been managing the park for the last 34 years and is looking to retire. Don has done an incredible job at growing and building an amazing park for the community and will be a great asset to the park for years to come.
Organizers are in the beginning stages of building a board of directors and hope to have everything set by September of 2018. The group of volunteers slowly began to do some work with Don on getting the park going this year.
Some animals are currently at the park and the volunteers are working on getting a few more in for the summer. Several volunteers participated in a Work Bee on June 24, and there was a tremendous amount of help.
Many local residents came together to help clean up the park. They were able to clean the park up and prepare it for more animals.
In addition, they have had so many people come and volunteer to do weekly chores and help when needed.
The park is always in need of more volunteers, so check out their Facebook page @WTAPark to keep up with all of their events.
